I was thinking more like the images used after the previews, that give a better view and isolate each person individually...but that would be better if we get other people to help as well, since there's alot of those. Especially if we included the non captain/vc deathgods.

I was gonna say that too. Those are cooler and give the name/rank/bigger picture of every captain and luitenant.

They remind me of the "who's that pokemon" on pokemon episodes on the WB.

Does anyone have any idea the squad's ranks? I know 11th is the highest ranked squad and the 4th is the lowest but has there been any hint in either the anime or manga where the other squads fall?

I've been thinking of making a crappy AMV listing all the Shinigamis with their rank, squad assignment, soul slayer, and a quick who knows who. But I'm way too lazy. Maybe this thread will motivate me to pick it up again.

Squads are not ranked. They each serve their own purpose for example 4th Squad are the medics, 11th is like front line fighters, 12th is a research division.

So I guess shinigamis are kinda like the military in our world.

Only they kill hollows as well?

Edit: I just meant I originally thought they were all just specifically employed to kill Hollows. The fact that there were so many of them with different power levels and ranks confused me (like, how many death gods does it take?)

4th are considered weakest becuase most of them do not like to fight.
12th is a reasearch squad who is pretty much the intellectual of soul society.
1st squad is leadership squad (i think only the old guy and his lit are in it.)

It'd be cool if there were many members in the first squad and they were just super strong shinigamis that couldn;t for some reason achive bankai... like one of them would be afraid of touching sharp objects... or afraid of things that pop out of nowhere and kill his enemies... or one that has simply no idea what the hell that bankai stuff is... (a bit like me... even tho we seen it... i'm still confused)
