last.fm
I just wanted to share my new favourite site with you all.
www.last.fm
You download a thingy and it keeps track of what you listen to and then in gives you recommendations and compiles lists and what not. The thingy also gives you info about what you listen to, like artist info and such.
I have found a shit load of awesome new music after just two weeks.
I go by fourDegrees over there if you want to check me out and become friends. :)
Happy scrobbling

Sounds just like an internet radio station called Pandora (http://pandora.com) that I use. It's great!
-
Yeah, I use Pandora. I wouldn't have found The Red Chord, Thinking Plague or Squarepusher without it!
-
It has the feature of pandora for free, and there is much much more.
I myself couldn't stand the slow pace of pandora. I prefer they way last.fm is designed. I just click to the artists I like and it shows a list of similar stuff.
The biggest difference though is that pandora is based on "expert" opinions whilst last.fm is based on the community.

Thanks for the info el_boss! <shitcan's pandora> I'll give last.fm a go!

their classic rock random selection sorta blows (some AWFUL songs and bands in there...) but this service is just ten times better than Pandora, and i've already found a new band that i like through this.

Just want to recommend some cool bands that I have found.
Eels - Beautiful Freak - Good chill music. Alternative/indie rock
The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium - Very energetic music, the singer kind of sounds like Björk but I like it.
Dredg - El Cielo - Prog/alternative rock
Muse - Absolution - Chill alternative rock
Sphongle - Tales of the Inexpressible - Weird psychedelic electroic music
