didn't eating (and being hungry) used to have a special meaning in Soul society? something about turning into a hollow?
as always, I'd much more enjoy this light-hearted chapter if it wasn't inside the imminent genocide of everybody.

If I recall correctly, the hunger as a normal soul in the living world would indicate that your time is running out. I think that if it was for a soul/shinigami already in SS, it was something along the lines of needed food as fuel for their reiatsu or something.
Not to hot in the time it takes to bake a cake. Awesome.
So if each of them created something, then would that make the first guy created healing? It did seem like each one had a vested interest in one Captain a piece.
So one created the healing techniques, the other the gigai's, another created Zanpaktou. Makes me wonder which one of them invented Kido.

Funny how they all played a huge part in the history of Soul Society. Ichigo, despite not having created anything, has already played a huge part in their history so wouldn't he go there too eventually?
