Samurai Champloo

i downloaded some episodes of samurai champloo last night and when i tried to play them back on my windows media player it said that there was an error downloading the codec. does anyone know how i can watch these episodes? like do i have to download some other thing? im kinda new to this downloading thing so any help would be much appreciated.
