This pretty much confirms that Minato is playable, since hes the very last unlockable character in the game and not just DLC like the Hokages in the first game.

There is a difference, shodai and nidaime were mentioned as support only from the start.
This press release clearly notes Minato as playable.

Yeah, and they also mentioned that he's the very last unlockable char in the game. I really can't see him being unlockable as support only. I'd be pissed.

Killer Bee should have been the very last unlockable char, since he's actually new and has never been in any other games before.

Since they already have the models for the support characters in the first game, will they be coming back as full or support characters this time? I'm asking specifically for the 2 Hokage actually.

Honestly, I don't think there will be hardly any support only chars this time around.

I can see them making support only characters available as dlc. Everyone on the disc should be playable.

edit: Guess not. Just remembered Kurenai and Asuma were support only too, unless they were DLC.

Yeah, they were both dlc. Packs 4 & 5 to be exact.

It doesn't really make a difference since the DLC characters were already in the game in the first place. The "DLC" merely unlocks them.

That was just to give the game some artificial longevity. They simply ran out of time, so made them support only.

edit: okay, it was only Itachi and Naruto.

I got confused looking at all the Pains, Narutos, Itachis, Lee/Guis, Akatsukis and the sheer amount of models on screen at the same time.
