Who is overrated/underrated in Naruto?

I cannot think of anyone else as being more over rated than Sasuke.

Under rated? Hmm. Chouji and Shino. Neither are given enough attention, especially the latter, and both come from fairly famous families.

Shino seems too cool, and the fact that not much is known about him or even the parameters of his abilties adds to his mystique and allure. I think the use of bugs is too interesting to not highlight more often.

Chouji has been an underdog the entire series, who wasn't thought of much until his bout with Jiroubo. His final speech alone made that entire arc.

I also think Neji is under rated when compared to Sasuke, who would get ruined by the Hyuuga heir.

But, in all seriousness, it'd take a thousand if not more Sasuke's to handle a single Neji. If your jesterly image is any sign of Neji's progression towards learning Hinata's technique. Well, then at that point Sasuke would need to be clone somewhere closer to the millions to handle something like that.

It depends on whose faster too.. It's been three years, and Neji is somehow a Jounin now, and Sasuke's power is, well, unknown.. When Neji was fighting the Sound/Snake dude, one of the reason he nearly lost was because he wasn't fast enough, even with his abilities..

Sasuke is one of the next generation Sanins, Neji is no match for him.

He's not Sannin level yet.

Neither is Neji. But the fact is, it's obvious that he, naruto and Sakura are going to become the next Sannin, it's been hinted at repeatedly for as long as I can remember.

I think Shino underrated. He alway does good on his missions and he beat the puppet guy from sand pretty easy.

I'm gonna be the nonconformist here and say that Shino is overrated by fans.

Seriously. He's been in about 2 fights, one of which he got his ass poisoned in. There's a whole lotta hype surrounding the guy and not much to back it up with. 'Cept those damn sexy shades and attitude.

More overrated: Shikamaru - Agree with Azazel. Although he's my favorite character next to Rock Lee, it's only because of luck that he's won many of his fights. He needs to be involved in a fight that can really show off his tactical genious.
Kimimaro - During Kimi's introduction he was WAY too overrated by the show itself. I mean, he was an emotionless badass that could move using only his willpower. AND he was chosen as Oro's original container. Everyone talked so highly about him I nearly peed myself with excitement when he was about to fight. And then...he danced around for a bit, turned into a Haku-clone, and died of an oral period. Jesus...what a letdown.

Underrated: Sakura - People bitch about her way too much imo. Yeah, she cries all the time and is too hung up on Sasuke but she's a semi-decent Ninja otherwise and hasn't done all that much to incite all the ire she gets from "fans"

Everyone else seems to be "rated" just fine, though.

I'm going to say Naruto is underrated by a lot of intelligent people. Overall, he's probably overrated by a bunch of idiots, but I try to avoid them. Most recently what made me think this even more, was the Naruto/Sasuke fight. Specifically, when he was projecting the demon chakra arm and Sasuke was dodging it with the might of his new found sharingan, Naruto needed a way to make the chakra connect. So what does he do? Splashes water and uses it to conceal the approaching chakra project until its too late to react even with the lvl 3 sharingan. He does it again a few seconds later this time using the ground as concealment. I thought that just brilliant, or at least sufficiently clever to not call naruto a combat idiot. Now...If only I can do away with the memory of the Naruto/Kimimaro fight...

Well that's also a one episode example of an awesomely choreographed fight, how many other times pre-time jump have you seen naruto do something inelligent?

There are plenty of examples. The fight against Zabuza where Naruto's plan and its perfect execution were solely responsible for freeing kakashi from the water prison. The fight againt the three mist ninja's in which Naruto used kage bunshin and henge to make copies of his teammates and fight, allowing his real team mates to hide was another example in which naruto's plan was the reason for victory. In the fight against Gaara, Naruto used gaara's preconception of him and an apparently stupid move (the 1000 years of pain) to conceal the exploding tag which damaged gaara to the point that naruto was able to make use of his kage bunshins to actually land blows on gaara. There are others I'm sure, but they're not coming to mind. Naruto's shown plenty of cleverness.

The problem is that people are unable to forgive his moments of bullshit because he's so noisy and is portrayed as an idiot. But when he's serious, he's a contender against anyone.

Sure, they might become Sannin eventually, but just because they have the potential doesn't mean we should say they are currently stronger/better than Neji, whose a -jounin-, yet.

about the sasuke vs neji thing....well i'll ask 1 thing, who do you think is stronger now? naruto or neji?

counting the lastest manga chapter? naruto hands down... look what he did to jiraya and what ero-sennin said about him.

Kimimaro was overrated. Although he was sweet, I think naruto kyubbi rasengan wouldve been able to break the bones.

I doubt that Sasuke>Naruto, as that would bring Sasuke close to Orochimaru's strength, and I doubt that Orochimaru would do that as Sasuke may change his mind about the mind transferance. And as of right now, Orochimaru has only seen Naruto's power with one tail, not with the four that he had up against Jiraya, although I doubt that Yamoto will allow him to go that far without stopping him using his (apparent) crazy Bijuu controlling powers.

oro can suck my d**k. sasuke is stronger my ass. the guy is using a bijuu power and he has the ball to say he is stronger. I always had this in my mind ever since I read 292, if oro says sasuke is better while naruto is in three tail, doesn't that make sasuke as powerful as jiraya. jiraya didn't had that much problem with 3 tail by the sound of it in the manga. wut kind of training did oro give him, that made him that powerful is just 3 years. it took jiraya his whole life. wut do they have in naruto a hyperbulic time chamber or somethimg? they better explain this good cause these lvls don't make any sense. In case of naruto it can be explained easily, because it's not his own power, however sasuke in the other hand it's the tricky part. I refuse to believe sasuke is already at sannin lvl. and if sasuke is already that strong wut kept him from going after itachi? this is bull man. kishi completely made the kyuubi power useless. by doing this all we gonna see from now on is naruto getting pissed, hitting the forth tail and go out of controll which in turn would make him fight with just power no jutsu. the other thing that has been bothering me is sasuke seal 2 power, if he is to beat naruto in 3 tail he must use it, and I'm sure every1 knows he is using his own chakra. where the hell was this much chakra hidden. the shark guy from akatsuki was the only one who had this much chakra in him, and for all we know he could have had a bijuu too. wut is going to be next sasuke has the 8 tail bijuu.

Oro's probably just baiting Naruto to get a rise out of him. Apparently, he got a rise out of you too as well. Nothing like calling Naruto weak to piss him off.
