I was thinking that fansubbing's strong points would be for archival purposes.
So people would watch shitty CR rips for immediate satisfaction and go back and archive the slower but better fansubs if still interested?

Well I'm all about buying the manga. But I can't get myself to support Viz and funimation.
I hate the way that they water down the series to make it more accessible to younger and broader audiences. So, I really rely on teh fan subs to get the experience I want.
I would happily buy some smut, but apparently they don't sell that in America?!
Okay I was lying I wouldn't buy smut, but I would read it at the bookstore. If someone sees me doing it, doesn't that count as IRL exposure? XD
I see Cal's points though. While raping the original product might please the moms and dads of the west, it can't be doing much for the hardcore fans who are actually willing to cough up a lot of money for merchandise. The happiness is almost mutually exclusive.
Hey man, calm the fuck down. I agree with Cal_kashi, they do water down the translations so that the series are enjoyable for younger audiences. It's not a matter of money, I'm still want to buy all the volumes of One Piece, but I do enjoy the translations in the scanlations a good deal more.
well, fuck.
Oho, it says there that they are going to show it in 720p quality, if so, i'm ok with it ^^
Awww, now it sucks again.
Then why don't you support crunchyroll by purchasing their service? You are aware that some of the money goes back to the creator yes?
I think Divine from RandomC sum it up best
The anime industry is suppose to be in a rather bad shape right now also.
I haven't seen a Bleach episode in like 40 episodes... so... whatever.
