Oh, you meant this chapters cover, my bad, anyway, i can`t say i see him with the eye open, considering they haven`t clearly shown him with it open, i`m gonna assume he lost it and this cover is just not detailed enough to appreciate anything.
No matter the shut eye, the story and/or reasoning behind it should be very interesting.
Something about the shut eye reminds me of ending to the 2003 version of Zatoichi.
Maybe we are getting Kishimoto'd and Zoro has obtained a hawk eye. God even typing that as a joke is painful.
Hawkingan?
I don't think its really something that needs a backstory. Zoro trained with Mihawk and received some wounds. Besides, did we ever even get an explanation about the scar under Luffy's eye yet?
Yes, he cut himself trying to prove he was a badass

You say that as if this sort of stupidity is out of character for Luffy
^ Lmao
And yeah I would love some backstory on Zoro's eye too. We'll probably get it eventually through the title page shots.
I get the feeling he's keeping his eye closed. He'll open it when he gets serious.
I think it's more like he's giving swordsmen a handicap. Mihawk didn't want to fight Zoro with his full strength when they first met, and I doubt Zoro will want to fight weaklings with his full strength either.
level 1: pull out the third sword
level 2: put on the bandanna
level 3: open his left eye
level 4: ????
Level 3 would be the 2 extra heads
Or the sharingan comes out.
EDIT: I got neg rep for the reason that I was comparing sharingan to anything related to Onepiece. Lol. I was just kidding and riding the flow with the jokes related to the unveiling of Zoro's eye. No sense of humor eh?
