Last night I had a dram......
.... Naruto did not get licensed ever, but the animators kept making episodes forever, they were only available on fansub and broadcasting in Japan... Please dear lord in heaven http://www.gotwoot.net/forum/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif , don't make naruto licensed and dubbed and popular around younger children..

im pretty sure not most of us understand japanese, but you say if i don't understand it then i don't know if they are conveying emotions or not. you may have a point but their voice + the sub makes it look like they are conveying emotions because even though we don't know what they mean there's the sub at the bottom. And also the expressions on the face of the anime characters themself tells us if they display emotions or not. F.e. *scene*naruto getting angry*scene* Example Sub:"i don't let my friends die!", animation: naruto pissed off. Then the voice is loud/angry. im pretty sure we know if they display emotions are not

lol i think TFC is an american station they got like abs-cbn and some other stations over there, tfc is like, they put all those stations and bring it over here.(US)
i was going there for 2 weeks, leaving this saturday.. doubt ill go though...but if i do, ill tape burn rip em for u guys..
yeah, some parts can have just as much of an emotional impact on those of us who dont know japanese as those who do. We know whats goin on cause of the subtitles, and we can still sense the emotion in the characters in the way they talk and act

So if most of you don't understand the spoken Japanese language, and you’re just using the universal body language and facial expressions to understand how the text presented should be interpreted… Then why do so many of you insist that they are all amazing voice actors? This is just a question out of curiosity.
I’ve seen quite a few people say things like the english, and Spanish voice actors don’t give a damn, and do horrible jobs.. If you don’t understand what they are saying then how do you know that the Japanese voice actors are doing any better? I was just wondering if this is one of those times when people just fall in line and assume something is better because it’s different, and they don’t understand. The grass is always greener? Or is there a different reason?
Admittedly quite a few of the Spanish and English voiceovers I’ve heard haven’t been all that great, I’d say 30% have been bad 70% good, but I understand these languages so I know whether they’re good or bad.

I agree with you 100% It all depends on what you see first.
I don't like watcing dubbed episodes of shows I first watched subbed, and I don't like watching subbed episodes of shows I first watched dubbed.
I do think it makes a big difference in movies. Live action movies should never be dubbed. The sound doesn't match up with the picture, and it is very obvious. With animated shows though this is not a problem. Sounds and lip movements are not coordinated very well anyway. It is impossible to read a cartoons lips...

thats cool, even tho im in the US right now, im enjoying d/l anbu subs better than translated dub. I do remember looooong time ago when yuyu hakusho (ghost fighter) was really popular in PI and was in tagalog, that was good.
You don't have to exactly understand the language to know if the seiyuu/voice actor is good or not. The whole point is to understand the emotions that they are trying to convey. If you can understand them or get a feel of them without even understanding exactly what they are saying, then I think they are doing a pretty good job at voice acting and getting the feelings across.
I also don't argree when it was said that you naturally like the first version you see. First of all everyone is different so that would vary second of all, I first watched anime in English, and to be honest in the beginning I would stay away from subs, but when I first saw Bishoujyo Senshi Sera Muun anime in Japanese, that's when I really got into anime and from then on was always in Japanese.
I think that's good that the Phillipines are going to get Naruto, even though I'm not Phillipino, but I"m sure there will people that like that language's dub and some that don't, cause that's always how it will be.
