Chapter 237 Discussion

Well, if a time jump is going to happen, I kinda hope they just sorta make the whole jump, it would be a little like a second start to the series. Flashbacks are inevitable, so I guess we'll just have to suffer through them, but I rather not see a flashback to a portion of the training we already saw if it staggers. With a single large jump, hopefully, the only flashbacks we'll see are the ones like the Itachi one in the last arc, all new material. I really hate wasted panels on things I've read before.

..Does anybone know if jiraiya is powerless than oro?(i'm sur oro is stronger, and that sasuke will surely be better than naruto) When you see all naruto(the serie) from the beggining i'ts like tsunade,ji and oro...Sakura always kicking narutoe..(powerful punch [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]) ...so maybe yes she'll grow up to be as strong as tsunade)...and you know for oro and sasuke...and naruto for jiraiya...but what will change all of this is that naruto have the kyubi inside of him ans ji no!....but even there...sasuke has the sharingan and not oro :S....So we will have 3 new sannins ninja [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

its only obvious because kishimoto made it obvious

if he didnt go making chapter covers showing naruto's team and the sannin making the same poses, if he didnt draw pics of sakura with a slug and sasuke with a snake, and if he didnt go through the effort to make all these in-story correlations between naruto's team and the sannin, then it wouldnt be obvious

but clearly, it was his intent all along to foreshadow this

I love it!

This has been foreshadowed ever since we learned about the Sannin now it's actually happening and the story can advance into the next major arc.

Sasuke is with Orochimaru, Naruto is under Jiraiya, and Sakura is under Tsunade..

What is Kakashi going to do now though? It seems like Shikamaru is going to be the Chuunin field leader of some Gennin's, but that's kind of unclear now.

I was hoping for more info regarding Kakashi over the tombstone at the beggining. I guess he was just talking to Obito and didn't say anything indicating who Obito is..

Oh and were Orochimaru and Jiraiya fighting in the same place Naruto, Sasuke, and those two legendary ninja's fought? Or was it in a cave somewhere? I couldn't tell.

I think it's only a matter of time now until they reveal the lineage of Naruto now.

no there are special jounins that work with the anbu but you become anbu before you become a jounin sensei like kakashi, gai, kurenai and asuma so all of them have been anbu even ebisu has.

it would be kickass if naruto started dressing like yondaime.

However it doesn't make sense the akatsuki are no more chasing Naruto though. They should have given an excuse like Jiraiya suddenly whisks away naruto into the night, never to be seen, with only Tsunade knowing about his true whereabouts. And go train on an isolated mountain where both of them will never see another pretty girl for the next 3 years.

And when they return, they find the leaf has been ravaged by wars against rain and rock, with many of their friends and family dead. And Sakura blaming Naruto for leaving them all.

There isn't going to be a time jump I don't think. At least not for a few months. The next chapter is titled Seperation, so that might be Naruto saying goodbye to everyone then he'll train with Jiraiya for a while.

Time has to accelerate a bit since there is no way we can wait 3 years of normal time to see what happens next. If they went straight into it though, they would blow all the suspense. I bet we are going to se another arc with Jiraiya training Naruto that will reveal some stuff, then they'll do the time jump.

I wonder what new techniques Jiraiya is going to teach Naruto.. he has a whole scroll of super spells like the one he used in the inn to contain Itachi's Black Fire.

I'm happy but at the same time I feel a little bit disappointed. We all knew that Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke were parralels of the legendary three ninjas. The foreshadowing was was sublte as a back slap to the head. Now the long awaited time jump is finally comming. I wonder if this is the reason why Kishimoto took his reasearch break. He had the story planned out till this point but didn't know what he would do after the time jump.

A periodic time jump would be cool with little tidbits of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura's progression. I don't think were going to get that thought. Something tells me were going to get something drastic where we see Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke three years after there training is done complete with new hopefully ass kicking costumes and an older look and a handful of new techniques and abilities. Wonder if this is the beginning of a whole nother series naruto Z?

What would be even cooler is if Kishimoto started doing three separate series briefly focusing on each of them and there training. No chance in hell that something like that would happen but I can dream can't I?

LoL anyone have any bets when the time jump will officially come? 2 to 3 weeks. A month? wonder if we'll see it before the end of the year.

If he does the time jump now he is going to skip over so many potential stories with Naruto and Sakura. He isn't going to do it soon. Naruto and especially Sakura still need to develop as characters.

He COULD do three series one called Naruto, the other Sakura, the other Sasuke..I doubt he draws most of the manga now anyway. He probably has assistants for that.

Dammit thats what I said already. It's not going to happen. Kishimoto is a pretty average guy and he does get alot of help with the manga's story but he still says he has trouble meeting the deadlines. Only way we would get three series is if he was whipped and starved to produce more chapters.

All mangaka have troubles meeting dead lines, it's rather common on running joke. But yeah who didn't see this comming. I would say about a month to two months for the time jump. gives them a good eight to four chapters for enough character development to set up for a time jump. I don't think they will jump the whole three years. more like two or two and half so their is time for Naruto to go back to konoha and get ready to take on Sasuke and Orochimaru. Also to see how all the other characters developed through that time. Can't wait though.

Mm.. I wouldn't mind a time jump with small tidbits of information and scenes, but nothing too spoiling so we don't know that Naruto can fully control his chakra and summon medium sized frogs to block blows (I.E. Jiriaya vs Fish-face) or make his kage bunshin clones worth something in combat other than take hits.

Example:

Scene: Naruto is in the forest, panting (Yes, Naruto is tired for once!) and the voice of Jiriaya is heard saying "Again!" After making a simple shadow clone they both run to engage Jiriaya, each actually working together for once and holding their own.. as Naruto goes to make a final blow the scene changes to a three-dotted Sharingan eyed Sasuke rushing toward Kabuto with snake-like fluidity while Orochimaru watches from close distance.. blah blah.. scene cuts short of the fight in the same way Naruto's did..

Maybe Sakura's can show a little bit of field training where she's out healing minor wounds and cuts of sparring Genin.. and then doing the Sakura-esque "Sasuke-kun.." thought.

Not creative? Sure, but I'd rather see small bits of those than seeing a whole few months worth of manga chapters of Naruto trying to master a one-handed Rasengan and then the final one being where he did it. I wanna see little snippets of them practicing jutsus, taijutsu, and other junk, but not actually completing it to avoid spoiling. Sure, it'd piss us off to all hell.. but it make it all fresh. It's possible via the manga, but they'll probably throw lots of fillers in the tv series.. especially to distance the ever so small gap between the two.

Yup. Thats good. I want to see bits and parts of their training as well. And like Terra said, WHERE"S SHINO??

And maybe for the next arc, would be concerning the other Gennin's, WITHOUT the usual 3.

Do you think 3 years would be enough for Sakura to become busty? Or does she need to hide TonTon down there to ... ok. Lets not go there.

I can see this badass part after the timejump. There's going to be a badass entrance of shikamaru and his team, and hopefully shino too. I think there may be a few cuts to naruto going to chunnin exam final fight or somthing, and they don't show what jutsu he does but vaguely show him winning / becoming a chunnin


man kishimoto has his work cut out for him, he's got to make badass entrances for all the genin that have purposely been put out of the spotlight, i.e. shikamaru(and team), shino, and the sand nins.

3 years is a long time... remember that one arc that lasted a whole one day(which took half a year to come out)

since kishimoto is doing the time jump , he should later introduce a character from the future, like they did in that obscure anime called dragonball Z, it could be the son of veget....i mean sasuke and sakura, come to help out naruto change the timeline.

Bah. This sucks. The main reason not to like time jumps?: INTERMINABLE PERIODS OF FLASHBACKS THAT WOULD BE NICELY DONE IN THE FIRST PERSON. If this is right, I'm going to find the NarutoFan guy and beat him up something fierce! (Well, not really, but I'll definitely pout some.) It already seems obvious where a ton of this story is going. Hopefully, we'll all be surprised with the other leaf genin. What will be the difference between the sannin and the team 7 genin that makes them not have the same falling out that Orochi and Jiraiya did? Vee vill see (in like... 12 years).

The time jump is a good idea; if done in spurts. Like, say, TRAINING......JUMP........TRAINING....JUMP.
See? Now everyone wins. Keh, character from the future. What's next? Genki dama no jutsu?

I think this Chapter is quite amazing. i am also excite of what happen to Naruto after 3 years of trainning. To me, i think Naruto only tap into 20% of his kyuubi's power so far. i mean look at the past, the kyuubi has a head and nine tail that make up 100% of its strength, (because the nine tail can attack it it mouth and it tail - look at the first page at the begin of vol. 1) and look at Naruto. When he fight with Haku, we saw the head of kyuubi when he try to revence Sasuke. Then in the fight with Sasuke, we saw the red charka first (the head) then we begin to see one tail form as the next level. Therefore i think he have 8 tails more to control as 80% more of his power. But i don't think that all, i also think each tail has its own special like 2 and 3 dot in Sasuke's eye. i mean look at it. When he release the head he faster stronger and become a taijutsu master. When he form a tail, he faster and stronger (taijutsu master) than he first release the head, pluse the charka has its own will to move and the ability to complete rasengan (Ninjutsu master). I mean i can't wait to see what happen next to Naruto ability when he control a new tail. Perhap Mag. sharingan like Itachi once told Sasuke (because he never tell who the third person can control Mag. Sharingan) or perhap an eye like Neji or both as a genjutsu master. Or perhap some other ability such as transform into kyuubi as Gaara or something else. This is exciting. With Sasuke, i think he will create a new form of sharingan. Like in Street figher the next level of devil Ryu is the god Ryu. i think Sasuke will create a new Sharingan that surpass Itachi's sharingan. And Sakura will obtain the rebirth jutsu from the Fifth Hokage Tsunage. I can't wait to see what happen next in 3 years.
