Can you expand on shitty?
Are the characters are one-dimensional? Are they are predictable? Are they are poorly drawn?

Personally I would agree with those that say while it's not the best anime ever Inyuasha rises high above other animes. Inyuasha kept its bad guys usually in the gray area of life keeping them from complete evil. The anime had enough moments to keep it above animes like Star Ocean Ex, and most of the additional Pokemon seasons.
