Menos Grande was one of the strongest hollows, right?
Ichigo almost killed him (after a bit of powering up, but still ichigo without any serious trainning).
Ichigo is getting his ass kicked by every other shinigami he's fighting now.
What the hell are everybody doing over at the spirit world? if the strongest hollow is at best at the level of a vice captain, then there shouldn't be so much hollows around, espically one such as big and famous as this grande.

Well, Renji (in Episode 30 & 31) did say that shinigami spirit levels were capped when in the mortal world. So perhaps that is the reason they wouldn't necessarily be able to take on the Menos alone on the mortal plane. Let's also not forget that Ichigo received a little aid from Ishida to defeat the Menos (which the Menos actually looked, to me, like it just decided against venturing further and just retreated).

but i don't think menos grandes to be overrated just ichigo is over powered.
