A ninja that can be turned into a puppet while he is asleep doesn't diserve the title of Kazekage, strongest ninja of the sand.

You saw how the iron sand worked, Sasori needs skill to be able to avoid that, catch him alive and then turn him into a puppet. I'm quite sure there is more to Sasori than just puppets. He is afterall a member of Akatsuki, Deidara who defeated Gaara with no real effort and said "it was hard to not kill him" is afraid of Sasori so Sakura got nothing on Sasori.

Add to that Team Kakashi managed to defeat 30% Itachi but it wasn't easy, the same goes for Team Gai defeating 30% Kisame, that is the strength of Akatsuki members, they are fucking monsters, Sakura can not beat one of these monsters.
