Seeing as how he never really had a father and his mother died when he was still relatively young it makes a world of sense. Besides, it's what all good heroes do after they win the fateful battle that saves the world but lots of shit has got fucked up in the fighting. Also, Aerith would have been proud, I can see her goody-two-shoes ass with Lacus Clyne planting flowers and singing with the orphans...
