That's the thing, Sasuke is tremendously more powerful than Kidoumaru. In Shounen anime, the exiting point of a character (especially villains) in the plot/arc/saga is what usually determines their significance and strength. I WAS going to say what Mut said about how Sasuke could recover from the 64 hakke thing, but then I thought of how he killed Kidomaru - who was only slightly weaker than Sasuke. Or maybe he was a lot weaker. Whatever the case, that fact also muddles things up a bit.
