but then why would there be 5 Chevalier, especially 3 (maybe 4) all on one side? Either there's a huge royal-vampire family thing going on (and we just don't know about it yet) or the Chevalier are supposed to protect the head of the family (vampire overlord). Seems to me that Saya quit/got ousted by Diva somewhere down the line and Hagi went with her.

and I wonder what kind of monster Saya and Diva's mother must have been....

watched 20. Bud might be right, they said Hagi left with Saya, but he also had something to do with the Divas. The Chevalier sure are a happy group, it confuses me.

I find it interesting how Saya's chevalier is to become Diva's groom while Diva's chevalier's are meant for Saya...

Somehow I don't think Hagi would make a very agreeable groom for Diva, if Saya was indeed killed...

Who were the fast dudes in this episode? They had the vampiric super speed, but apparently they were lacking information (or simply wits), as they seemed to lost to the chevalier so easily, yet they obviously thought they could beat the dude. Were they some prototype soldiers created by the Red Chield?

I had totally forgotten about the reporter and the Yakuza daughter. So when that scene started I was like, 'who the fuck are these people?' then it came back to me and i was like 'oh yeah, they're the ones more entertaining than the main characters!'

Kai's girl is HAWT! He should have at least left on better terms with her. If it wasn't an anime she'd be boinking some other dude right now while he goes chasing after bats (Chiroptera, i incidentally found out recently, is part of the scientific name for bats). That day-dream was ROFL funny. Those two crack me up

Hagi has got to get a better weapon. That coffin is way too unwieldy...

Schiff were pretty good. But 'gee' do they have a rough deal...

Was it Saya that killed everyone before the fire? It looked like her. I would like to know how the Schiff originated, and it seems like they have some sort of disease that only Saya or Diva's blood can cure.

I think Saya and Diva are more than just sisters, I think they are twins. It looked a lot like Saya, but something seemed...off. That's why I think it was Diva rather than Saya. The haircut seemed closer to the one Diva had as she was laying on the ground in the Chevalier Atrium than Saya's classic straight hair (the long versions from the film and Vietnam).

That image was also from after the fire, which occured in the flashback the old man was talking about, but yes, it seems likely that either Diva or her servants killed off everyone, either that or Saya went berserk when she was turned/awakened.

The next eps should answer that question definitively.

There was a girl with a blue rose present at the site after the killing / fire, but it doesn't still mean the girl did the deed. Of course it would have been natural if the residents were vampires. Well, I just thought to point this out...

Saya has been useless the last couple of episodes, I wonder why Hagi even bothered giving her his dagger, it wouldn't have made any difference.

This episode was great though, great animation. Especially when they first started being attacked in the bridge, and Hagi picks up Saya jumping in the air while dodging every attack, it was superbly done.

But man, what a shitty name Gee is, I bet it really is "G."... that would make more sense.

I wonder how many times Hagi is going to keep getting fucked up like this, he keeps getting the short end of the stick.

It was a really good episode. Much needed background info of Saya and Hagi's past. Quite conclusively indeed. It was an interesting past, to say the least.

Edit: Oh, and obviously it also revealed something very interesting about Saya's inherent powers. She's not at all just a killing machine, and she's probably very similar to Diva, in the end. I wonder if it's only her personality that separates her from Diva.

Yeah, this was a nice flashback episode. I also wonder when was it that Saya let Diva out. Was it before or after the fire. I would also think that the one that destroyed the castle was Amschel with some sort of devious plan. He probably secured some of Diva's or Saya's blood in clandestine and used it on himself, then he killed off everyone. That's my take on what happened, I don't think it was Diva.

I've only seen the first six episodes, but it seemed kinda cool. When I have more time on my hands, I'm sure I'll watch the rest.

I just love the quality of the drawing. ^_^

Well, we should find out soon enouph. That is accualy my theory as well. I really liked to backstory, but I wish that Saya would remember a little more.

For all you awesome people, it's just Phoenix. The numbers are just the amount of times people misspell it.

Nothing beats the first OP song, but this one was a definite step-up over the last one. I like the style they used in the OP as well and it seriously points towards Saya going psycho sometime down the line.

Strange, Chevalier need neither sleep nor food, but Saya is ALWAYS scarfing down tons of food (meat especially...) and falls into long sleeps for several years in a row. You'd think that since it was her blood in Riku and Hagi it would be the same for them, but it's the opposite...

Someone feed Kai some stfu. He was the one insisting Saya give him her blood, he'd read the diary, he knew what was going to happen. He'd rather his brother be dead? Just deal with it.

Speaking of food, thought they did a good job with Riku's 'thirst', one of the better parts of the episode. Action was pretty good too.

Next ep looks like it'll have a bit about the Schiff's past.

That reminds me a lot of 3x3 Eyes, where the Sanjian race is all powerful like gods, but they are not immortal, but they have the ability to grant immortality to someone to protect them. This way, they are protected while they sleep when they are most vulnerable.

I can see Kai asking for Saya's blood so that he can become a Chev. That would be awesome as i can not see Riku being at all a good Chev since he is too small.

That would be totally awesome, and if I had written the story, I might have even made it like that. However, as it is, I'm not totally sure Kai is thinking like that, and is the suitable kind of person. Such a decision requires a person who can single-mindedly concentrate on something and even give his life (or humanity) for that. Kai hasn't really shown that much resolve. He only worries about his brother nowadays, and isn't much good for anything else. He couldn't even pull the trigger to try to shoot one of the attackers.
