No you dont. You're thinking bankai. All of the seated officers can do shikai.

Anyway, its odd how much idolad's shikai resembles chads powers. Im sure its not a coincidence. perhaps chad is part hollow as well, though obviously not in the same way as ichigo. But this is a possible way for chad to get stronger now, and we know that needs to happen. Perhaps later on in the fight chad will appear and battle idolad arm to arm?
