Usually when I buy PC hardware, i do so with the expectation of upgrading bit by bit, rather than all at once. Even if the bottleneck is the video card and not the cpu, the option of upgrading your video card without having to buy a whole new system to keep up with is nice.
With my setup, i can.......
upgrade to dual-core 64bit
add in 2 extra gigs of 400 ddr ram
dual-sli a 6600GT
You especially want to put more money towards cpu sooner than later, because if you decide to upgrade it later, then you'll probably be upgrading your mobo as well. Which will lead to tons more upgrading if it supports newer ram, newer IDE, newer video slots, etc.
It sucks to be gridlocked by your mobo.
