Yeah, all the mahjong explanation must take some work. And yes it will have skipped 5 or 6 years in the next ep, will be fun to see Akagi as a 18/19 year old =P

Episodes 8 and 9 have been out for quite some time, I just watched them. I think these two episodes have been my favorite so far, just because it shows how kickass of a character Akagi is, he's awesome. I think he's my all-time favorite anime character.

Episode 12 was pretty good, Akagi kicking ass as always, awesome way to end a match.

    Here's episode 13:

Didn't care much for the episode since it was merely an explanation episode for the most part, but the final scenes are awesome with Akagi staring at Urabe and the foreshadowing of a match Akagi will participate in one year which seems like it'll be awesome.

I liked this episode, it walked you through Akagi's process of decimating his opponent.
It was also a nice episode to finish up this match, did a nice job of it, and I think it's main purpose was to lead onto the next episode, and show how disatisfied Akagi was with the match he just had.
It shows how Urabe had lost from the get go, and Akagi was nearly in a state of boredom with the match.
Again, It sounds as if the next match should be something to anticipate.

it was kinda nice to finally reveal akagi's "secrets" or just superhuman thought processing... but it was a bit explainatory, kinda was like uhhhh i wish i knew more about mahjong so i could understand/appreciate the show more. what exactly happened to urabe's hands? or was it like they cut his wrists and the blood was then flowing on his hands?
