damn you do a good job man. why don't you upload them to the Gallery here though so we can see the entire full sizes? If I remember correctly imageshack places size limits on scans...

Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".

before you shade, make sure the arms are anatomically correct and can actual be seen as connected even in normal space.the eyes look like 2 linbes and a dot. I think the shoulders dont connect properly and why are the eyes so somple.maybe you should try to add more detail. hhmmm

I think he is saying that in the last picture, the right and left shoudlers dont match, making the right one seem like its floating behind him instead of being a part of his body. I personally think the chest, shoulders and head arent anatomically correct, and placed in an unnatural angle. Then there is the right arm. The angle at which he is holding the sword is physically impossible, unless he has 2 elbows on that arm. I think its because the biceps are too long. These can be fixed though, by simply adjusting the angles a bit. I agree with him about the eyes though. You need to make it more detailed in order to match the rest of the picture. The clothing is detailed, making it seem that rather than making the character look recognizable, you are just dressing a randomly faced one with familiar clothes. I guess it depends on the person, but I usually prioritize making the drawing physically correct (even if anime in itself is fundamentally not) before I go into details and shading. In the end, Im just being overly critical. Its just that, though shading would usually make a drawing look a lot better, I feel that people should still be able to see through that and check if drawing basics are even being followed. Im not assuming that you are satisfied with this, but seeing your drawings, you better not be, at least not yet. It would be a waste if because of all the compliments you get, you fail to see the shortcomings of your own work. Sorry for being too critical. I assume that the last one is original, and I think that is your best original work. But I would be lying if I said its good.

@oyabin - please write properly so people understand

If you look carefully, its easy to see how the right shoulder should be a bit lower, and that the chest and shoulder angles obviously dont match. The right arm IS possible, if the bicep wasnt that long. The length is unjustified by the shape of the arm, since the shoulder and bicep muscles actually show. There is about the length of another bicep that shouldnt be there for that pose to work. Like I said, Im being critical, if you look at it as just another throwaway sketch no one would mind. But it depends on the standards of the person viewing it. The reason he couldnt draw the eyes in detail is probably because the of the overly thick lines throughout the drawing, which of course limits what can be drawn in. Indeed I mistakenly assumed it was an original one. Why? because it really wasnt properly drawn. Having seen the source, I will greatly lower the evaluation of the drawing. Its a copy for crying out loud. I thought it was his best original piece since the pose was good, albeit not perfectly drawn. It being a copy, and not a very good one at that, I have to be honest and say I am disappointed. If you actually took the time to look at the two pictures one after another, you will see how different they are, especially in the shoulder, neck and right arm areas. That difference made the picture anatomically incorrect. Next time, before you use evidence to ground your argument, make sure it is consistent. If there are differences in the copied piece (which there are a ton in this case), you cant justify anything.

Oohhhkkk, look whatever, my primary thing is 3d, i only do 2d cause i think its fun and its a small hobby, so critisize all you want, i wont care.
and do you really think i copied this like if someone poses for you? I needed some material, found this, copied the pose, and drew the picture, looking at it occasionally so i wouldnt forget details, strange that it isnt 100% correct right?
    Please, go bother someone else.

Umm, all people copy like this. You look, then draw. What I am just saying is that the drawing, despite being a copy, is anatomically incorrect, making it worse than if it had been an original. Also, not 100 percent is of course ok, but not if its like 60 percent. At that level it wouldnt be a copy at all would it? I already knew your specialty isnt 2d, that is kind of obvious. Finally, I am not bothering you. I am just criticizing your work. I didnt attack you directly like saying 'you suck as an artist, never draw again' or anything like that. I just posted what I thought of your work. And if you read again, you will see all of my comments are as objective as possible, all relating to physical correctness or accuracy of the drawing. I didnt even input any of my personal artistic preferences in it. So if you are pissed knowing the truth, I guess you wont be improving much from here. Knowing where you went wrong, accepting it and fixing it is the only way to get better. Ive had people harshly (much harsher than I did) criticize my art before, but I didnt go say 'i dont care or bother someone else' because that would be just like saying I suck so be it. If someone has a valid point, you dont go shutting them up just because you didnt like what they had to say. I had actually thought that you posted these works to actually be commented on, not be blindly praised just for being there. Its nice if you think 2d is fun, even better if you do it as a hobby. Just dont snap at people for being honest about what they think. I think that is a lot better than just glancing at something and saying good job without actually putting the effort to really look at it. In the first place, if you thought of it as just a pasttime and really didnt care about what people had to say, why post it? Also, why do you feel bothered? Anyway, if it bothers you that much, I will stop commenting on your work, since it seems you only want to hear good things, and I dont lie just to please people.

No no no, lol i dont mind constructive criticism, or even negative criticism, i just meant that such a full detailed post on every point the poster thinks i did wrong is pretty much wasted.
Since i post these drawings here cause i am happy with the result, sure you can say stuff like, the anatomy is incorrect, or whatever, but making a 20 line post is pretty much waste.

If it was 3d however, i would really have appreciated a post like that, cause thats more then just a hobby for me.

But its just 2d, so after reading something like that i wont be like, damn shit crap, i have to improve this and that now.
I just think, hmm ok, might think about that next time. And i move on.

I didnt mean to say you should'nt comment, cause any comment is nice, even a negative one, it means you at least took the time to look at it, but such an indepth explanation isn't necessary.

Edit: oh and another thing, my picture was tiny, not even as big as the one Thi3f posted, i couldnt even see the face.

@thief - it doesnt matter if the work is already shaded and finished. Constructive criticism, if it has valid points, can always help. It just means that next time the mistake can be avoided. Obviously, that is not the last picture darkshadow is going to draw.

Also, the comments arent just for darkshadow alone. It can serve as good tips for others who plan to draw their own fanart. If you think that taking the effort of doing that is praiseworthy then by all means. If not, then dont. I dont think anyone cares either way.

Good job reading and even replying to my unreadable post. Really well done.

@darkshadow - I guess if your picture is tiny, the eye details cannot be helped. I didnt say that you have to improve though. Like I said, if its just a small hobby then its all fine. but Im glad you got the point that I was just commenting on the picture.

I guess the long comments may seem excessive, but i gave that detailed critique before you said that 2d was just a small hobby that you dont care much about. If I had known, then of course I wouldnt waste my time doing so, unless maybe I thought it would serve some other purpose, like I explained above.

Since you say that an in depth explanation is not necessary, then I guess it would be pointless to write them from now.

    See? I can write paragraphs.
