Did you try uninstalling VD before and install it AFTER CCCP that second time?

this is interesting as that had said they fixed this. as in their release notes in the most recent version (2006-03-06) they say this

Finally added the VfW part of ffdshow (after much complaining from people who wanted to do stuff in VirtualDub)
If you still want your Virtual Dub (I'm not sure why but that not for me to decide) once you install it AFTER CCCP. Follow this to make it work with Xvid files

    XviD in VirtualDub

If all else there is always VirtualDubMod that has support for the matroska container format.

anyways thats all for now report back if you have anything else
    image fail!

My bad. I saw that you were having trouble with CCCP and I actually had a problem with my MPC where my video wouldn't play at all. I don't know too much about Virtual Dub so I can't help much. But you've got Deadfire, he knows his stuff.
This fantastic Sousuke sig was made by the one and only Lucifus! Thanks man!

Well, I use virtual dub to cut parts of episodes into smaller files. Like the intros for instance. I was uploading videos to my ipod.

Anyway... the only way I made it work was installing an Xvid codec outside the one installed by CCCP.

Thanks for all the help though Deadfire and NarutoMaster.

Yeah, CCCP leans very heavily on ffdshow (which is just a directshow filter, not a vfw codec) for its decoding. So if you're doing virtualdub work, you need to actually install compatible vfw codecs (ie: koepi xvid binaries).

To be honest, if you're working with vdub, you probably aren't well-served by cccp anyway. You'd be better served by the Gordian Knot codec pack -- which really is an encoder's codec pack.

Most other things are really more playback-centric, and CCCP is no exception.
