In November, Death Note the Movie came out in Japan. Now this I Can't wait for!! I have seen the Any info on where to get it English Dubbed would be appreciated. And to the GotWoot Admin PPL out there, Everyone and there Mothers are looking for this movie. We are all waiting.....

Oh is that movie nonanime? cause i've seen the begining.. i dont like it a bit, probably cause it's pretty much the same story with a little different plot.

I'm downloading the animanda version to make a comparison too. I've also found what seems to be another sub group called Death God fansubs. You might wanna take a look at what they have to offer too. Seems like we'll still be getting our Death Note anime fix after all.

Misa will add some spice to the future eps, eventhough I really do not like the way she's introduced when I analyse it straight. On much complex levels however, that could be very interresting. Although Light should always lead in the end, as the hero... but no one can be so sure of that... since after all he's an anti-hero.

I'd like to know more about L too. After all, he's made very different from anyone in the anime/manga.
What made him so different, why is he that smart, why those eyes, why such a reaction to "shinigami" eps ago...?

I took a peek at DG, and it seems that they may be TW in disguise. I could be mistaken as I haven't been following the series. Though, episode 13 might've been the last one translated by AK of Troy, so if they indeed continue it be wary of their quality as they only had a good translator going for them. If they indeed find another translator I very much doubt they'll be any good. I haven't seen Animanda, but apparently they're good enough from what I have read from other posters.

Another awesome twist, Light has a true disciple now. Near is an irritating little brat and I don't like how they keep trying to make him seem like L, he's not L, and that fact makes it feel like the things that he does weaken the original.

I don't like how Near plays with the toys all the time and that playing gets so much attention (screen time or camera angles), yet there doesn't seem to be any deeper meaning to it in the series world. I guess it's just a strong way to give him character quickly since he seems like the replacement for the more slowly established L, but I don't like it nonetheless - because it feels like an artificial way to personalize him.

Well, I have no complaints otherwise. He seems more aggressive than L and prone to less subtle ways. But then again, he's younger than L obviously so it makes sense.

From a manga shop. Most manga shops here where I live also sells video games, candy and gashapon toys, anime, and related figures and goods. It's not hard to get replica Death notes, key chains, plushes, etc.

I have two replica death notes, one from the anime, and one from the movie (misa's note). There are tons of rules written in it (more than 50), and so far, they havent contradicted the anime and its portrayal of the death note, which leads me to wonder if all those rules have been thought out before the manga was written or if they just made it up after.

When I visited a manga / anime convention a couple of weeks ago, a booth was selling those notes, but due to time limits the first time I passed the table I couldn't even have a look, and the second time I went there (after having eaten and listened to one more presentation), they were apparently sold out. Kind of pity, although I doubt I'd have bought one. But it would have been interesting to look inside one at least.

Now that I rethink about this show, I really wish I had not seen the near/mello arc... it was really unnecessary and sadly not up to the quality of the beggining of the anime.
I wish they had thought of some other way for the falling of Light...

Even though overall I enjoyed the series alot, I think there's quite a few of us that believe Death Note was not the same after L's death. When I was watching the series to me it was all about the battle between L and Yagami. Near could never come in and replace L.

Thats exactly why the 2nd part wasnt as good. Near tried to REPLACE L. Though a tad different, he was basically an inferior copy of L, and that made him much less interesting an enemy, especially when he caused the fall of light. It would have been better if he had a very different personality and style, making him a character in his own right, instead of some wannabe.
