The series looks like it's keeping to the manga so far, though with one episode it's hard to tell. With regard to the other comments about how weak the main character is being portrayed, I have to say I don't remember it being quite that blatant in the original manga, of course it's been a while since I read the beginning so I could be wrong.

It seems to me that they're emphasizing his personal cowardice more than they're emphasizing his weakness the way the manga did, which is annoying. Still both aspects should go away pretty quickly if they progress the anime much faster than the manga, since by the third volume he's starting go grow a backbone. In many ways he reminds me of the main male character of the manga Zero In if anyone's read that.
