Yeah, I sort of got the impression that they're trying too hard as well. It just... doesn't flow like LittleKuribo's stuff does for me, I guess.
Didn't laugh throughout the entire six episodes. Cringed at parts, due to the sometimes terrible jokes/acting, but never laughed.
I wanted to make an abrided series using the fillers. Here's a test vid I made to featuring Jiraiya monologue about the PS3, it's amusing so I think you guys will get a kick out of it.
