    I don't even remember him from the movies.

    I'm surprised such a problem existed in the first place. No background check for lending someone a gun? Whether you're going to own a gun or just use one, you should have the same requirements for both. You need a license to drive, whether it's your own car or a mate's, so I don't see why it should be any different.

    You don't need a license to own or use a gun in the US. Heck, in Florida and other states with big hunting grounds, you can own a gun at any age, if your parents buy it for you. Gun safety is important and can be taught to children, but this lady wasn't interested in that.

    Depending on the state, you might need a license to conceal a gun. (That is, wear it in a hidden holster.) Depending on the state, you may not need a license to wear one in a non-hidden holster. You do not need a license to carry a gun in a gun box. Or to use it (but you better make damn sure you know what you're doing, because you are liable for your actions)

    Senate bill introduced could give Obama the freedom to shut-down the internet in America if he sees fit.

    Well, an appeal is certainly in order. Isohunt and iinet (Australian ISP) are in lawsuits too against "facilitating" copyrighted material. iinet's pretty safe I reckon, but this ruling could have some influence over Isohunt's case.

    Well, according to Swedish law i have no idea how they lost. They were only hosting torrent files - which does not contain any copyrighted data...someone must have paid huge sum of money to judge...

    @Xel

    Yes, and that's why they aren't going anywhere, appeals will be made for years until in the end they are found not guilty. This whole thing is just stupid.

    Facebook - one man's downfall:

    You know I was boycotting facebook until a few days ago, going against the "everyone has it" trend. I knew my previous decision was right

    Unless you're a moronic drug trafficker who decides to plaster his picture all over the place, I doubt facebook will be your downfall.

    What secrets are you keeping, sir?

    <@Terra> he told me this, "man actually meeting terra is so fucking big", and he started crying. Then he bought me hot dogs

    To quote from the article:
    "The court first tried whether there was any question of breach of copyright by the file-sharing application and that has been proved, that the offence was committed.

    "The court then moved on to look at those who acted as a team to operate the Pirate Bay file-sharing service, and the court found that they knew that material which was protected by copyright but continued to operate the service," he said.
    It's not being very specific about how the court came to the decision that PirateBay was infringing copyright, and if the point DS stated was brought up, how they handled it. Without knowing that, I don't think we can accurately predict whether or not the appeal change the decision.
