Whatever, just so long as Nintendo doesn't flood the trophy section with 450+ pokemon trophies, or something.

I haven't used the Pokeballs in a while, but IIRC you didn't have to actually touch Moltres for it to do damage to you. It looks like Groudon just acts like a huge obstacle, instead of actually attacking anyone.
Today's entry was disappointing.
<@Terra> he told me this, "man actually meeting terra is so fucking big", and he started crying. Then he bought me hot dogs
Yes, moltres just hovered there for a few seconds, dealt lots of damage to whatever touched it, then flew up away.
Even that aside though, there's plenty of other pokemon already that perform similiar purposes. There's that electric tiger thing for example that sits on the level and repeatedly electricutes anything that comes within a certain range of it. The fire lion thing is just like the moltres too, except that he also burns anything above him as well.
Basically, melee already accounted for every single thing you can accomplish with the use of pokeballs.

What about pokemon that move and fight for you for about 15 sec. Scissors only flies in two or three directions and then he's done, it'd be cool to have an ally for about 15 sec or so.
P-perhaps they'll include some Pokemon with protective powers, where they guard you with a shield or something?Originally Posted by AssertnFailure
I'm not sure if any Pokemon have that power though. Anyway, I guess you're right about the Pokes, though I'm sure Moltres also had the ability to blast the screen with a fire attack or something.
Edit to below: No, I know Entei also did the fire pillar thing, but I honestly recall Moltres flying into the background sometimes and attacking with a fire pillar as well. I remember it because it pissed me off that he didn't always do it. I can't just be imagining this.

That was Entei. He shot up a large pillar of flame in the middle of the level.Originally Posted by XanBcoo
Neat...looks like the Brawl gameplay will allow for different types of controller setups, with the Gamecube controller option finally being confirmed.
Like Sakurai, I think I'll stick with the GC controller, but I think it might also be fun to use the Wiimote and Nunchuck.

It was that big white bird thing with the blue under-belly.Originally Posted by XanBcoo

I believe its name is Lugia? The last Pokemon game my bro and I played was Gold and Silver, and the Silver version's cover has Lugia on it (Gold having Ho-Oh).Originally Posted by AssertnFailure
This fantastic Sousuke sig was made by the one and only Lucifus! Thanks man!
NM is right.
On the smashbros website it says the game will be compatible with the remote alone, remote + nunchuck, classic controller, and gamecube controller (which they prefer you use).
If they allow gameplay through the remote alone, I suspect they toned down much of the fast paced action we were arguing about.
