That's 18 episodes into Shippuuden and 18 manga chapters covered. On the other hand several Bleach chapters are often crammed into an episode resulting in more fillers. Can't anyone pace normally?
I remember back in the days when Naruto anime episodes consisted of between 1.5 and 2 manga chapters. Though, if this is what we have to go through to avoid another 2 year filler break, I think it's worth it. That being said, I do agree that they are going through this arc painfully slowly.
