Not really. Sasori turned his body into a puppet. Orochimaru turned his body into a snake. Deidara turned his body into a bomb. These villains were all obsessed with their attacks/hobbies so much, that they turned themselves into them (which is probably a sign of mental problems). I guess that's the reason we haven't seen any girls in Akatsuki; they're all too grossed out by them.

Don't forget Kazuku and possibly Hidan. Maybe Kishi's trying to make a statement that just a normal body isn't enough to be 'strong' at least not if you don't have something to protect/be a part of. As I think back most of the enemies in the show have been artificially enhanced or altered in some way, with these enhancements genreally being the basis for their skills.

You're also forgetting Kabuto. He turned his obsession of Orochimaru inside him as well. Anywho, I agree with what you're stating, but it's getting a bit too repetitive. Can't we just have some regular Akatsuki members without physical body enhancements?

Besides, of course none of the Akatsuki members are normal, why would an exclusive group of S ranked criminals have anybody ordinary?

Because the fact of having an ordinary ninja who just happens to be really good as an enemy would be a nice change for once in the Naruto universe.

I think Zero might to be that one ninja and that he just has a fetish for ruling.

I wouldn't necessarily call it an enhancement but he definately looks like one of his parents was part shark. Who knows, maybe the reason he has such high chakra capacity is because he's some genetic crossbreeding experiment. Juugi and Suigetsu also fit the mold, both having seemingly natural abilities that are totally outside the scope of normal. For Juugo I am of course talking about his ability to talk to birds.

OR we will get totally blown off; after the huge explosion, the action will cut to Naruto's group, and Sasuke will reappear a few chapters later in that old cat-lady's house getting a few cuts mended and saying something like: "That was too close....I'll get you Itachi!"

But I hope there will be some kind of Tobi confrontation - Obito or not, he's one of the coolest characters in the manga.
