I'm actually really dissapointed that Merry is back. I'm gonna reserve my judgement till the end when we find out just what is going to happen to the ship but after four shipwrights who said that there is no way to repair it, I'll be really ticked off if Merry magically repaired itself.

I'd be okay w/ Merry's return if that's the ship's "last duty" before getting junked forever. I was looking forward to a new ship, actually.

Going Merry = True Ghostship. Only the Strawhats could hear it.

Creepy!. But IMo, The 4 shiprights are no match compaired to the true heir of the king of shiprights. Franky and Iceburg. Maybe Iceburg could have repaired it.. Maybe..

Thing is that there is no way to repair the keel. The keel is the foundation for the ship. If it breaks or is removed the whole ship collapses. Even Franky who was raised by Tom said so and the Klabauterman was just able to do a touch up job on itself, not fully repair his damages.

Also, how the little broken ship was able to reach EL shortly after Rocketman and make it through Aqua Laguna is beyond me.

What makes you think it was shortly? I'd say it has been quite a while since they arrived. I mean, how long do you think it would take the Buster Call to arrive? And I'm pretty sure that whenever Merry was sent here it started to sail before the Buster Call was called upon.

From the time they reached EL up until now I say no more than one hour and a half has passed and from W7 to EL would be give or take an hour with Rocketman's speed. I guess Merry didnt reach EL shortly after Rocketman since we have no proof of it but still, it looks to be impossible for Merry to reach EL at that time.

It's all just speculation though. We don't really know how much it took them to reach EL and win all of their fights.

Like I said, if it's before water7 even started then Oda was probably referring to Usopp who left while they were in water7.

Also, I'm sure we'll get some crazy explaination about how the Going Merry got there in one of the next two chapters, for now we can only speculate. I think they've actually been on Enis Lobby for a while, there's no way for us to tell day and night because Enis Lobby is always sunny (unless my memory is completely wrong and I'm pulling that outta my ass). There's no way to assemble that amount of battleships in less than a day.

Well don't forget Iceburg is back in Water 7, he might've something to do with it, and am i the only one that think the wanted poster for the entire crew was cool? and i think franky being group with them mean he will be joining the crew.

Yeah, I agree with you, I don't like how it is back, hopefully it's the last thing it does.

Agreed. I want it to go kamikaze on the BC ships so they can escape, or to get them back to Water 7 and collapse. As much as I like Merry, it would be too unrealistic if the best shipwrights in the world couldn't fix it but pure "love" could (given this is a manga).

Could be the final voyage of the Going Merry. Probably doing final justice to the ship before it finally cracks.

I remember Oda said that in this arc we'll lose one team member. Either he was lying, or talking at first about Robin or Sogeking (though I doubt Robin and Sogeking now). I think the member that we will probably be losing is the Going Merry. Unless they somehow patch her up, and make it a super battle ship using the schematics that Franky has.

Umm where did Oda say that a member was going to be lost? Also, I'm guessing he was referring to Usopp who left the mugiwara pirates, he's fighting with them but technically he isn't a "team member" any more.

It was in one of the threads. Can't remember which one. There's a magazine article someone posted about people asking Oda all kinds of funny questions, like is Robin's or Nami's boobs are bigger and some shit.. And he said something about the Water7 arc that we'll lose one member. The article was before even Water7 arc started. Don't know if he's still serious about that though.

Btw, I kinda like the fact of the Klabauterman. Or the spirit of the ship. Gives a very awesome feeling to the ship. Like it's the Black Pearl. Everyone knows it, and if they ever see it, the know it's the last thing they'll see. Except Luffy's ship is nice and cute with the orange tree's on it.

i honestly thought it was the giant whale Laboon who would be there... (the one they would crash into after reverse mountain)

But now i think it took a rather negative turn... Merry has been destroyed by franky... How could it then still be there...
