If you're planning to watch Shakugan no Shana, I'd watch that one first. Second season airs in days.

Too bad there's only 2 seeds.. (Oh well, I got times to spare anyway, *start downloading*)
    Thanks.

Does anyone know more animes like Chrno Crusade? (Other than the ones on this list)
I thought it was a really great anime. (And I fucking shed a tear at the end.. seriously.. what is wrong with me?! I didn't even "cry" when my dog died, and yet, I "cry" for an Anime? I must be sick in the head or something..)

Oh and, I'm sorry, Munsu, about the spoiler in one of my previous post, it's just that, I didn't thought there was still someone out there who hadn't seen Death Note.. Considering all the fuss it made.

Well, since I suggested Chrno Crusade in response to Fate/Stay, I should have added Shingetsutan Tsukihime (Lunar Legend Tsukihime) as well. The other TYPE-MOON series, though an inferior adaptation of the game.

Arc the Lad, if you can find it. Series like Chrno Crusade fall into a very small subset of a genre. They all have the same feel to them, but they don't come around too often.

If you want to inject a little more humor, Peacemaker Kurogane. It has a sparse few, really slow parts, but I enjoyed it.

Same goes for Kiddy Grade. It's a lot more sci-fi, but has an adequate dose of humor with its drama. Also one of Aya Hirano's very first roles. The bonus with Kiddy Grade is its sequel/spinoff is on the way.

This is assuming you want action series still. If you want heart-wrenchers, I can give them to you.

I personally think Gungrave is a heart wrencher.

    Ahoi,

many of my series have ended, so im looking for something new.

If there´s anything from the aniamtion-studio of "Fantastic Children" and "Now and then, Here and There", please tell me.

Other than that, something like Death Note, Eureka Seven or Scrapped PRincess would be nice. Yeah, a nice traditional fantasy series would be nice.

Fantastic Children somewhat reminds me of Nadia: Secret Of Blue Water, so you may want to give that a try. Also, try Kino`s Journey (Kino no Tabi), and Last Exile is another series that shares FC's style in my mind. Last Exile also has the stunning character design of Tony Taka. As for films, try Castle in the Sky (my favorite Miyazaki film) and Howl's Moving Castle (my second favorite).

As for Now and Then, Here and There, Haibane Renmei is more oriented towards a female audience as a slice of life series, and lacks the violence of Now and Then. I got a similar feel towards it though. Nausicaa has a similar art style of a desolated world that Now and Then shares. It also has the war-torn nations. It's only a movie, and as Miyazaki films go, not one my favorites, but it's quite good.

As traditional fantasy series go, many of the ones I listed above fall into that category, but here's a few more (in alphabetical order as I go down my lists):
Arc the Lad - Based off the video game series, but with a new set of characters (the game cast appears in cameo for the most part). Definitely fits into the fantasy element, but with the smallest touch of sci-fi slipped in.

Grenadier - The infamous-a-few-years-ago well-endowed heroine who reloads her weapons with using her...assets. Not the greatest series to ever be written, but it's light and worth the watch, whether for the fanservice, or the over the top fighting.

Hyper Police - A future where humans and monsters intermingle, humankind has become somewhat of an endangered species. Natsuki, a half-human half-nekomata is an apprentice bounty hunter preserving order in this world.

Utawarerumono - The first series that reminded me of Scrapped Princess since the latter aired. In fact, right after finishing Utawarerumono, I rewatched Scrapped Princess for the nostalgia.

    Less traditional fantasy series:

Asatte no Houkou - More geared towards slice of life, where a elementary school girl and a college graduate woman switch ages as a result of using a wishing stone shrine.

Otogizoushi (Heian Arc) - This entails only episodes 1-13 of the series. A series with stunning visuals, where the Imperial Court orders Minamoto no Raikou to find and retrieve the sacred jade jewels that promises to restore peace to Kyoto. Raikou, however, also falls ill due to the epidemic. His sister, Hikaru, decides secretly to make the journey in his place.

Outlaw Star - More of a fantasy sci-fi series, it mixes magic, chinese mystics, aliens, and spaceflight to journey across space and to the lost parts of the galaxy.

I should point out that a several of the series I mentioned are older, and given that Now and Then, Here and There is one of your favorites, this should not be a problem. Unfortunately, the "traditional fantasy" genre seemed to largely die after the early 2000s.

I watched Utawareumuno but I didn't like it. After hearing about Scrapped Princess and various other tidbits around it sounds interesting. Think I might give that a DL. What group does the best sub job of it so I can know which batch to get? I'm guessing the Ani-Kraze one might be the best? Since their releases are usually of the highest quality.

I have the Keep-ANBU version (removed probably since it got licensed) which was great but you won't be going wrong with A-Kraze thats for sure.

You may have watched these set in a fantasy setting but I'll mention them anyway:

    12 Kingdoms
    Tsubasa Chronicle
    Record of Lodoss War OVA
    Record of Lodoss War TV

    Anime APB

I really hope I put this in the right section, because iv never seen someone put something like this in the Anime section.

Anyway, As the title suggests, does anyone have a anime that they would really recommend, im not talking about all of your top 5, I mean you current number 1. Something that is preferably currently airing, and that has a nice healthy thread, where I can talk about it.

Right now I only have Gundam 00, on my watching list, Im looking for 1 maybe 2 animes to round out the week.

    Thx for the help

And again , big sorry to the mods if this is in the wrong section -.-
