I admit I liked normal end. Arturia's genre aside, put everything back as it should.
The continuation of the dream plot device, although extremely basic/simple felt quite poetic in that last scene and very soothing.
In stark contrast, HF ends with Emiya in a false unstable body, Sakura with blood on her hands, Rider got the Jackpot and Rin getting it quite hard despite her wits. In a way, this is a more realistic ending if you forget the story is about magic/spirits/holy grail ...
So Last Ep was a nice addition, it serves many purposes. Lighter note ending and Saber fandom being those adressed for me. I guess that it was also an incentive for the PS2 version of course, and probably the real purpose in the first place.
Totally different subject:
Kotomine Kirei Summoned Lancer/ Cu Chulain.
In all of FSN, they repeat numerous times that the summoned servant is similar to the master regarding good and evil.
Gilgamesh clearly was similar to Kotomine, but not Lancer.
I think I remember in Fate they state Kotomine stole the command spells from the original master (we know nothing about)... or maybe I'm wrong.
But in UBW and HF it's not clearly stated.
I might need a little help there, although not a main character, I found his role to be well written.
