I meant before the team resonance. Maybe I expressed that somewhat poorly, but I meant he couldn't do anything in the demon form either, making him no better than Kid's soft bullets or Maka's typical inefficiency against strong opponents.

Well yeah, i was disappointed at how "Shaodw Star" failed so miserably to deal any kind of damage before the piano resonance
I think you guys are really looking at that the wrong way.
Instead of thinking "Blackstar is weak because he couldn't even damage mosquito with shadow star" I think it's more like "Mosquito wasn't kidding when he said that form was when he was the toughest since Shadow star didn't even scratch him".
I also think the reason that we haven't seen kid doing any training other than team Resonance is because he has already done that those things? The story has been rather vague on the difference between a Shinigami and a regular technician but i'm more incline to believe that a Shinigami develop his power as he grow older rather than through some sort of training.
Recently most of the opponents they are fighting again are on a totally different level. Mifune was able to fight Cid on even ground and Cid is suppose to be one of the highest rank technician.
I'm not too sure that i can discuss manga content without it being spoiler but the conclusion to the fight with Mosquito was different in the manga.
Shinigami indeed seems to be a strange shapeshifting monster but Kid's looks, manners, and maneuvers look quite human. So, there's no reason to assume he wouldn't benefit from training. Especially considering it's not training only for the technician but the weapons as well. And you are never too good to train. Life is learning.
I only felt sad because it looked like Black Star's cool looking new power (the demon katana) doesn't look too effective. But hopefully it was nothing but a beginning.
Finnaly!
This has been a slow anime week.

NB : The spanish sub got out faster than the english sub.
Crona finally got the confession out of her system. Took certainly long enough. The whole expulsion thing was stupid, though. If they drive her away, she will likely become an enemy eventually. And considering her past, it would have been stupid to assume she was suddenly perfectly alright after a single swing of Maka's friendship scythe.
One thing that was confirmed, though, is that Black Star certainly didn't break for good in the previous ep...
No, but we've seen that he's susceptible to the kishin's madness, so in my opinion it's just a matter of time before we see him "break" again.Originally Posted by Kraco

Obviously she will swing it around somehow to make it work more in her favor than anything else but i don't see how shinigami can pass on such a deal.
Crona confesses, but someone unexpected makes an entrance! I wonder what her true motives really are...
Good episode, expands on the theme of friendships and betrayal. But, the enemy has another powerful "ally" on their side. I wonder how Shibusen will deal with that?

I'm far less sure it's so obvious. My initial feeling was she's simply tricking them for some purpose. She tried to get Crona to find the hidden demon tools in Shibusen, so she's interested in something over there. I don't see, though, her wanting to destroy Shibusen right now. She's clearly not going to cooperate happily with Arache so she needs far more desperate or perhaps creative measures, especially since she doesn't seem to have too many underlings.
But I don't see her trying to form an alliance with Shibusen, nor would I expect the folks at the Shibusen to be too eager to do that either. Shinigami is strange so in that sense all the options would be open, but Medusa is the one who freed Kishin in the first place creating all their problems so it might be too strange even for Shinigami himself.
"Desperate times call for desperate measures" & "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" Kraco
I'm sure they will always watch each other very carefully but an alliance seems unavoidable at this time. The fact that Medusa seems to be giving away Brew to Shinigami as a sign of trust in the preview supports this.
But as i said, I'm sure Medusa has something up her sleeve and it may very well be to put her hands on that one "weapon" she seems to be searching for in Shibusen.
Medusa is more than capable of making fake versions of the Brew. Shinigami might know it's a fake due ot his connection with Eibon, and he might not. Perhaps Medusa is exploiting this.
Medusa's plans are always multifacetted. She's more like a Hydra than a snake.
Well that could be the case seeing as she has the original, but if Shinigami worked together with Eibon in creating Brew i don't see how Medusa can hope to fool him with a fake
Medusa might not even need it anymore, having got from it whatever she wanted unless this very thing was what she wanted the most: Access to Shibusen once more. Or she has a plan to get it back. Honestly, Shinigami isn't the smartest boss around, so tricking him would be like stealing a body from a child to Medusa.
If she's not trying to pawn off a fake to ingratiate herself, maybe Medusa wants BREW to be in Shibusen, right next to all of the other Eibon Tools. If it is more convenient for them all to be in one place, perhaps she believes she will have greater access to it once she is already inside the walls of the building. She may have even laid a trap on it or around it so that if it gets near something, some contingency she set activates.
By the way, is she still possessing that little girl's body, or is this her own re-formed one?

I was thinking something along the lines of that too. For some reason, she's always wanted to know of the location of the other Eibon Tools. BREW may be to the most powerful tool around, but quite possibly it's in conjunction with the other tools where it's true power is revealed.
Lately, Shinigami's been portrayed as a bit of a shady character, or just one who's not a simple black and white character (no pun intended). He'll definitely hear Medusa out if she's can get him something he wants.
If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~
Hey Kraco, Ryu do you guys want to start our own manga?
We obviously don't need these guys to make them for us, our ideas are much better![]()
On the subject of BREW being introduced to Shibusen's hand, Stein is also shown to be talking to Medusa. I wonder what he has to say to her, since he thought he killed her. I guess the nightmare will haunt Stein to a greater effect.

Soul eater is almost over. And I'm starting to think of ditching AHExcalibur, quick question though, what fansub to watch now?
Its good that Crona confessed it already.
