I don't think the two would even have any blatant connection though. They share several of the same conventions though, as in the magicians. The connections between Kara no Kyoukai and Tsukihime are much more obvious and deliberate.

Trying to stay on topic, but these torrents have horrible seeds.

Just a question, at the end of Kite (the first one, not Liberator)
When Oburi is shot, did he go home to where Sawa is after that? Seeing as she was waiting and someone arrived(I think..). Or will we never know?
And the one who shot Oburi is the girl from the start when he shot the basket ball, right? Kids sure are fucked up in that world to shoot someone just because of a fucking basket ball..

Well, starting to watch Liberator now. (Is that really a Sequel?)

Yes, he was headed that way, but I don't think he ever made it.

And when I watched it, I thought it was rather certain that the kids shot him. I didn't think they were fucked up though. The world of Kite and Mezzo is not exactly a pretty one. If you shoot at someone with a gun, you should expect to be shot back. It was karma in a way. Shoot at an innocent, don't be surprised if they come back later.

Liberator is a spinoff. It involves people closer to the character of Kite than the characters in the other half of the world, Mezzo Forte and Mezzo (TV). But it is certainly a sequel as well, and I'll explain why I think so.
    --------------------------------
Mukai was Sawa. I thought after about 3/4 of the way through that the evidence was clear. The knife throwing, how well she handled herself before that. The agility in addition to the child. I believe she and the boy, Obori(?) from the original Kite did have sex a few times, so the possibility of a child is not totally out of nowhere. I don't remember it all that well.

But the speech gave her away. I didn't have a clue at first, but right after she gave the "special person" speech, it all clicked. It makes far more sense for Mukai to be Sawa if she is making a special point for Monaka to rush straight away to her special person, because that is exactly what Sawa failed to do all those years ago.

I definitely enjoyed this one. It had a sort of "happy" ending.

Monaka reminded me a lot of Toujo Aya from Ichigo 100%, the manga anyway.

The other nice touches were the Mikura figurine on the desk next to Monaka's during the bag check, and the bracelet with martian gems that purposefully looked like Sawa's Blood Ruby earings.

Where the hell do you see a Happy ending!?
Her father is a frigging monster!

I hope there's another episode, because there's still so much more material left unused.

As for Mukai being Sawa, I kind of believe it too.
We can even stretch a bit and say that Oburi is that Police officer (his name was Gaga Rin? Or something like that) Though that more than unlikely.

Yeah, but compare it to Kite. Sawa lost everything. Here, Monaka recognized it was her father and all the strange things he had done made sense after Doi told her it was possible he was one of them. Monaka left the car believing she had killed her father. But then he revived, and the recognized each other again.

As Mukai/Sawa pointed out, Monaka needed to run and stay close to her "special person." They tried to fool us believing she might have a relationship with the cop, but she was always closest to her father. That was pretty clear.

Compared to the bleak and depressing ending of the original Kite, Liberator was a sort of happy ending. At least in a way.

So he's a monster. This is the Kite/Mezzo universe. Mere obstacles.

Edit: I'm pretty sure Oburi is dead as a doornail.

Hmm, yes, compared to the original Kite, Liberator does have a "better" ending. Since she is reunited with her father after 4 long years. But, he's still a monster, he can't live with her and he will most likely keep killing people and sooner or later the army or something like that will come to kill him. Then it will be a bad end for her.

I didn't watch Mezzo, but if one of you can find me a good torrent(At least 10 seeds..) I may actually watch it now that I have seen Kite.

As for Oburi, yeah, he's pretty much dead, or else he would be with Mukai. (If she really is Sawa)
