You have to admit though, half the time they're spending "too much time with some customers" is because that customer they are helping is a newbie DIYer who is trying to buy 18 AWG wire to install a ceiling fan, has never heard of a square drive bit, or doesn't realize what a miracle the SharkBites are.
And yeah, the guy cutting PVC knows you're making a potato canon. Listen to him, he'll make sure you buy the right parts and glue.
