Yeah, that's usually the case (particularly in the one with the horrible layout, which was the first one in my area 15 years ago), but not at this store. Which I had never been to before Tuesday.

You have to admit though, half the time they're spending "too much time with some customers" is because that customer they are helping is a newbie DIYer who is trying to buy 18 AWG wire to install a ceiling fan, has never heard of a square drive bit, or doesn't realize what a miracle SharkBites are.

And yeah, the guy cutting PVC knows you're making a potato canon. Listen to him, he'll make sure you buy the right parts and glue.

I definitely understand the "you are my only customer" mentality they try to carry, answering all questions until the customer is satisfied. But it makes it tough for customers who just have a quick "where do I find this product" question, which is usually what I ask. I also try not to hog the staff on busy days or when others are obviously waiting for help. Others are not so considerate.

That just sounds so cutesy

It's the little things that can make or ruin your day.
