All you can eat sushi indeed is a problem.
It's strange how something that seems so simple can vary so much in flavor and range from tasteless to incredibly subtle and good.
Also, with the same shushiya, you may experience differences from day to day, so it's also related to the quality of the products of the day, or the guy himself, or the one eating maybe?

All in all, I have a japanese restaurant near my office, the staff is all chinese. But, this place as a very nice quality/price ratio with quality within 90% of that of the best sushi I had to date. Lots of other sushi restaurant are in the 60% range, even some of them with japanese staff... so that criteria isn't the only one to take into account.

I'm speaking sushi only, because for other japanese food, my chinese staff isn't as accurate, which isn't a big deal as I go there for sushi mainly.

Writing and reading all this, I may go there for lunch, as it's almost 12 here... so the what are you eating question, could be answered with sushi today, if I go there.

Japanese Curried Rice w Fish Katsu. (Should have taken pictures )

I've never been to that shop before, and my friend told me they added in a new "graded curry" menu, so we went and tried that. Hotness went from lvl 0 (no chili) to lvl 10. With no reference whatsoever, I took the level 6 curry just to be on the safe side. It still tasted great, but next time I go there, I think I'll order their lvl10 challenge

    If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~

So I finally had a sushi sashimi combo... and since it's so cold here, a bol of udon too
Sides were a salad, rice with a bit of vinegar, small tofu soup.

I feel warmer now, but I wonder when in the afternoon my brain will be back online for work
