I can only guess that the anime took a different turn from the manga, which is why the development is an issue. The hesitation is painful to send away someone that's close to you, but that's been cut short because we don't know anything more about Gin to even sympathize with him. We're only given so much information to feel sorry for a character who got absorbed by a random youkai, so I can't say much about the hesitation.

I'm surprised that the renegade Youkai that went with Enjin is still alive and being treated at the hospital. Wonder what will happen to him?
