My role. Quite simple. I am Abdula.. I begin as a shadow, always watching, always analyzing and through meticulous observation and analysis I have the ability to acquire the traits of those I observe. Eventually I gain a humanoid form and it is then that my innocent quest for knowledge takes a dark turn. After spending too much time observing a particular marauder I become fascinated and begin closely observing him and him alone. I follow his every action, take note of all his mannerisms, his every nuance. Soon my appearance begins to resemble his, I begin to think like him, act like him. I learn of his goals, his dreams, his most base desires. It is then that I fall prey to those most human of desires, and learn of the seven great evils, the seven deadly sins.

In my haste to rid myself of these vile human qualities I confront the noble marauder and in so doing seal my fate, and yours. I kill the marauder and it is in the very instant of his death that I realize my true potential and my ultimate purpose. For in the instant of the marauder's death I absorb his knowledge, his memories, his experience, his very soul. I no longer merely mimic him, I am no longer his shadow, I am him. I adopt his appearance and begin to live his life and in so doing I quickly accomplish his goals and I achieve success far beyond the marauder's dreams. In surpassing the marauder's existence I become bored and begin searching for something more. In my search, I come across all manner of interesting characters; bakers, fishermen, collectors, witches, necromancers, sorcerers and evil geniuses. But all fail to captivate me the way the noble marauder did. All but the crotchety village elder who, as it turns out, is a lot more than he seems and so it begins again.
