That's indeed badass; 25M symmetric. I've always had a symmetric connection and I quite like it. Although mine is considerably slower than that and my ISP has little intrest in developing anything.

I'd need to move to a new place to get FTTH. One provider here offers 100Mbps/50Mbps for 30€/month.

Thing is, not many areas are covered yet.

For your average joe, if you have a very short copper line, you can top 28mbps down.

But reality kicks in and I'm only at 10Mbps/1Mbps, long line...

FTTH started around 2002/3 in Tokyo, with 100Mbps symetrical, didn't it?

Maybe around the same time in Korea, or even before.
I remember at the time having 512Kbps ADSL and for 1.5 times the price of Japanese FTTH... And I was among those having fast internet access, for France that is...

Well, I might someday have a quicker access with my mobile data plan, than with my ADSL line at home. Only thing is that home is totally uncapped...

    How about my fellow gootwooters?

All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.

Well it's either Comcast, or pay $37.95 for AT&T's 3 Mbps down / 384K up service with a 60GB monthly download cap. Those are my only two choices.
