My exact thoughts as well. I actually started to like her character at that point, finally. Not that she would have been a bad character technically before, just not my type.

Other than that Luffy can certainly be a troublesome and unlikely yet still fruitful partner for serious discussions. But luck is something that he will continue to need until he finds his way to his crew once again. He's not quite of the type to lead a solitary life.
