Haha. After the SS arc ended the quality of Bleach has dropped more than the value of the Zimbabwean dollar. So, it's completely useless to try to compare anything going on now, whether it's filler or canon, to the beginning. But if you insist on wanting to make such comparisons, I suggest you rewatch the old episodes and then forget about the whole show, because it's never going to go back to what it was.
