I don't think that the bubble guy is that bad. He really is no different than Sai.

This guy is one more level above Sai.

Sai was semi-believable in that he's taking "art" to a different level. With the traditional value and fixation on perfection/art/beauty, it "sort of" fits into the ninja world.

This guy, on the other hand, is blowing bubbles.

I'm guessing the bubbles are probably his bijuu's power, which makes his own feelings kind of irrelevant.

It's like calling Gaara lame for using sand. It's Shukaku that uses sand.

Or blaming Naruto for using awesome ultraviolence because that's what Kyuubi uses.

I'm not talking about Sai's fixation/value on art, but more about Traditional Japan's views on such things.

Ultimate Sword Skills : all cultures have that, with warriors perfecting their moves and all

Ultimate Art Skills: Drawing to the ability that your pictures literally come to life? Fine, since it's black/tradition (therefore ancient Japan / ninja-like), as opposed to that filler painting-genjutsu girl.

    Ultimate Bubble Blowing: .....okay......

Sand's more like the "environmental manipulation" stuff (like rock/wood clones, water jutsus etc.

Bubbles just don't cut it for me. <- This is entirely personal of course.

One could look in the other direction and say a true ninja can use anything as a weapon. Even bubbles! <- I simply don't happen to see it that way.

I don't see how bubbles are any less elemental than sand. If anything it's a pretty obvious water jutsu.

I have never seen any "natural" water form bubbles that will float in the air.

All my "natural" water bubbles stay in the water. In the case of rapids, they kind of float on top, but never leave it.

I would agree that a bubbly water gun jutsu would be an obvious water jutsu, but that would just decrease the density of the medium, and lessen the concussive force on impact.

Well, this weeks episode pretty much confirms the guy is a water element specialist.

While I agree that scientifically speaking water and bubbles don't really corralate, this is a show with anime/video game logic, in which bubbles are always a water attack.

The fact that bubbles are less dense really doesn't mean anything in relation to power when you take into account that it's magic. It's like in Pokemon, Bubblebeam is stronger than Water Gun.
