Surprisegaybuttsecks though is one of the funniest things about this manga, so it's not entirely unwelcomed.
Anyways, I don't like this love interest, I always hate characters like that. Probably why I'm one of the few that hate Hinata from Naruto.
I like that sort of character but that's not why i'm reading this manga, if they're revolving this arc around her i better get some character development or i'll classify it as a complete waste of my time

I just caught up and still really enjoying the manga. Admittedly, it hasn't been as funny as previously, but some good fights and more plot has been introduced lately.
It's been more battle oriented lately, and i can't say that's a bad thing.
I also enjoyed how they set up Ryu for a rival part only to have him lose before even reaching Minoru, felt fresh and unexpected to me.
Certainly, I love how they have treated all the rivalries to this point, they keep switching it up. For some reason I'm missing a bit of Pedro, being underused. Though loved the part when he was sniffing through Ryu's used clothes. Also nice to see Minoru coming to his own, and not be the wimp of early on.
It will feel cheap if Minoru manages to bring home the gold though, he's clearly outmatched when it comes to experience in this tournament.
Certainly, I doubt he wins, but I expect him to put a good fight at the very least.
