Although, a parent with a faked death would not be a totally surprising plot twist in this series.
Sometimes, I wonder if Roger is even dead, or if he used his Time Time fruit to travel to the future at the moment of his execution!

No, just implied with him and Luffy calling each other brothers.
Plus, the fact that he hates his dad makes more sense if his dad abandoned him to play revolutionary instead of his dad being executed before he was even born. Unless there's more backstory there, it's not really Gold Roger's fault he wasn't around for Ace.
