It turned out to be a much more straightforward reason than I was expecting. That, and the fact that it pretty much resolved itself in one episode are both good points for me. I would hate to see Arata seemingly owe Chihaya too much for returning to the karuta world. They're essentially on even grounds now, with Chihaya only acting as a trigger. Not to mention, Chihaya trying to persuade someone (and hence using brain cells :P ) would just seem off.Originally Posted by Ryll

Sharp, to the point, but with a hint of wit. Even if Arata hasn't built up his self confidence over the years, his deep voice sure gives off that effect regardless.
