Wouldn't it be a problem trying to convince his seemingly racist population to accept living with humans? It would seem counterintuitive if this was an intention and how he betrayed that one politician who was the Earth Federation President in the last episode of generation 2 where Flit purged anyone in power with ties to the Vagan.

What I am really confused about is why super pilot suddenly left his family. He said that he wanted to clean up the Federation, but there are so many ways of achieving that without being an asshole. He could have at least taken his family with him, or informed them of what he wanted to do. Pretending to be dead does not seem to benefit anyone, even him.
In the very beginning of generation 3, Asemu mentioned something about a mission. It is possible that his last mission was to fake his death and join the pirates to intercept any federation-vagan spy ships that would be crossing through that unknown territory (his real objective).

I hope it gets explained when Asemu rescues Kio with the coming episodes why he pretty much abandoned his family. I tried rationalizing reasons why he would do this, but there are a lot of holes in the hypotheses I came. My best explanation was that the mission he mentioned at the very beginning of generation 3 was actually to take his own death and then provide surveillance in that region where he can intercept Federation-Vagan spy ships. The faking of his own death could be used to protect his family because if he's dead, his family can't really serve as hostages.

Maybe he was told by the Federation to find the EXA-DB and Asemu realized how corrupt the Federation was, so he took this information and formed his own organization to destroy it first?

The gundam fights in this show are absolutely boring. I find that they just get in the way of the story,
Kind of... there's nothing too notable about many of the battle scenes so far in the series so far.

I don't know why, but I always expect X-Rounder abilities to go off in every dire situation involving Kio. That aspect, during the battle scenes, is pretty suspenseful for me.
