If he were rational, yes. But Eren is consistently portrayed as being pretty unhinged.

Good intensions doesn't really excuse acting like a rabid dog.

He grew up in a world where it's normal that gigantic humanoid monsters eat you when they get near you. I think he was pretty well adjusted for that.
