Hiashi was seemingly glad to see Hinata go - he was focused on training Hinabi.

Hinata is in danger of being made a member of the branch Family apparently - that is part of why Neji is so angry at her - Nominally he was sealed to protect her - and now it looks like that is going to be for nothing.
