So, you say, but the fact is Favaro and Kaisar were movin all the time inside the energe cages. Or was it merely a case where they needed to move for the drama but weren't able to do any more than that? How convenient.

The demonising guy was right in front of him. That's no time to use a crossbow. Not to mention such a puny thing would only work against the mob anyway, and this guy clearly was a top player. Favaro should just spare the effort and toss away the Bahamut sword if he has no intention to ever use it. Still, I find it amusing they would turn him into a demon right after he tried to fool them. He should be twice as treacherous as a real demon. After all, a demon's worst enemy isn't a hero or a deity, it's another demon. Although I half expected them to fail since he had some demonic properties already (the tail).

Really? In most fiction I'm pretty sure gods, angels and heroes are demons' worst enemies.

Many authors are deeply challenged by the philosophy of evil. They think gods (angles) form one front, demons (devils) the other, and the humans are there standing between them. That makes no sense, though. While gods can indeed be a big happy family, it makes zilch sense with demons. They are evil. Villains. They hate everybody but most of all they would hate fellow demons because they are direct competitors. Just like a business enterprise's worst enemy is a competitor in business, not some arbitrary other entity. A demon is always waiting for a chance to backstab another demon.

In fact we have already seen in this story as well that demons are plotting behind each others' backs and backstabbing as well.
