Rougo ni Sonaete Isekai de 8-manmai no Kinka o Tamemasu

    280400.jpg

"One day, Mitsuha falls off a cliff and is transported to a medieval Europe–type world! After a near-death encounter with a pack of wolves, she then realizes that she's able to transport between two worlds—this one and her own. Taking advantage of this ability, Mitsuha decides to live in both worlds and calculates that she'll need 80,000 gold coins to be able to retire! Mitsuha now has to come up with different ways to collect her gold coins!

Credit where credit is due, this had some very through planning and strategic calculation by the protagonist. This is an isekai where the main character, Mitsuha, can come to and from the isekai world at will. Sounds straightforward, but she fears she may get stuck in one world and so decides to save up enough wealth in both worlds to be a proper retirement no matter which she ends up in. Pragmatic and neurotic, really. They actually inject a quick scene detailing how her last living family member is no longer, and how her finances won't hold up to college tuition before her first accidental/forced transfer. She then learns to control the ability and takes steps to procure wealth with her frankly unfair advantage of temporal travel.

What stood out to me here was the thoughtfulness given to some more mundane elements of the story. For example, she not only doesn't speak the language, but that isn't addressed until her second trip, and she simply has to make due with grunts, rib-splitting hugs, and smelly outhouses until her encounter with the cheat granting deity. Most series would have handwaved that or cast a quick incantation to give universal language, but Rougo bothered to make it an actual inconvenience for a while. She also has no combat powers to speak of, so she goes full concealed carry license with a no-questions asked Merc group in our world to prepare to defend herself. When I turned this on, I did not expect a competent, succinct explanation of gun safety to come pouring out of my screen. It was cute and her business plan seems solid so far, so I'll stick around to at least see how far that lead can take her.

I also like that the (late) brother is a wellspring of cringeworthy advice she takes at face value; that joke hasn't gotten old yet!

I'm enjoying this one as well. The art is a bit muddy, but the plot is at least top 10% of isekai series even thus far.

She's meeting NPCs then leaving them post benefits with haste.. so much like a video game.

    Episode 04

    ----------------------

Wtf is she thinking by bringing electronics into the picture.. then I saw the solar panels.

For someone who thought far ahead enough to learn self defense, figure out a place to trade gold for money etc.. she made a pretty dumb choice trying to sell a can openner. She has no intention of avoiding suspicion at all this episode and is merely trying to sell whatever people might afford.

Basically outed herself as a witch in the worst possible ways.

I guess if she pulls off supplying the debutante ball, her new plan is to be a logistics company?

She even researched the "Medieval period". How she missed witch-hunting in that period is beyond me, but I'll just chalk it up to comedic effect for now since this is still entertaining.

Oh, and she served what.. 7 courses to the commoner/maid girls? Surely that's also suspicious, not to mention generous.

I laughed really hard at the retort pouches in boiling water leading the girls to believe it was a witch's pot.

Brilliant gag, and especially because we know she has a deal with a PMC on Earth.

On the other hand, I'm starting to get a suspicion that Japan, or at least isekai authors, only know of miso soup and minestrone. Even Family Restaurants have more variety in soups.

Probably depends on what is available at the nearest shop...
I still remember that a very detailed anime centered around top cuisine never mentionned wine for a bourguignon, which is the main and most important base of the dish...
    I'm not that surprised.

I guess that ep emphasized she's able to stage and prepare everything for her safety and economics, but certainly lacks observational and local common sense skills.

We have to remember that a simple watch with less than a second deviation over weeks would probably get you lots of troubles... just try a little search around the subject and how important it was for men at sea>warships>goods transportation.

Many of the items she sells are totally disruptive and clearly go against the lowprofile idea she thinks she wanted...

All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.

I feel that they don't actually care about the believably of it anymore. She just decks out the stage with dry ice and a projector. Don't forget that she's powering everything with a generator or a battery as well.

It's fun, but it's less about how she'll make money subtly now, and more just show she can show off as much as possible in a Medieval world.

Yeah, this episode was a major step backward for this series.

The only part of the episode I truly enjoyed was the repeated gag of her being grabbed on the shoulder by a series of creepers, including the clingly noble woman she tried to scam earlier.

Yeah, this episode made the whole thing dumb. It is ridiculous how much tech she displayed and how it is being treated as acceptable and not witchcraft.
