Yeah, perhaps it would be the best if mangas were produced like a novel. Say once a year, or maybe even better still, only sold when the story is completed. That way impatient people like us will be able to read the whole story in a day or two.(I know that we could)
I imagine it to be like reading say the lord of the ring novel, I am sure alot of people would be pissed if they did the same thing.
However manga is special, its literature that is broken down in tiny pieces, if its good it will keep you asking for more, if its bad then its bye bye. A lot of planning is needed by the author, because its basically extremely difficult to reverse the story after it happened. So despite it being slow, the story still is tight and have some unpredictablity(eventhough with sooo much prediction going around) and is generating lots of interest as the story progresses.
Perhaps a time jump would indeed keep the interest level even higher and less speculation on what the author is doing during the week. I am sure he is eating and breathing Naruto, afterall he is the one living person who is doing a original manga called Naruto. (he might have borrowed ideas and formats here and there but if it is interesting and good, I say keep it coming)
Happy New Year
